Japanese Sakura Kombucha - 2g x 24 Tea sticks
Japanese Sakura Kombucha - 2g x 24 Tea sticks
Product specificity 商品説明
A tea full in umami flavor made with kombu produced in Hokkaido and flavored with Japanese cherry leaves.
Kombu is associated with good fortune. Hence kombu tea is often given as an engagement gift or drunk at special events such as wedding ceremonies. The history of kombu goes back to the Heian period (794-1185). During the Sengoku period, the warriors participated in a special ceremony called sankon no gi before departing to the front. Abalone (uchi-awabi), dried chestnut (kachi-guri), and kelp (kombu) were consumed. This was a play on words meaning “striking the enemy” (uchi), winning over the enemy (kachi), and triumphing (yoro-ko[m]bu). Hence, since the Edo period, it has been popular to pour hot water over sliced kombu and to drink it as tea. However, since the Taishō period, people tend to use powdered kombu more than sliced kombu.
