What is Chiran Tea?
This is the signature tea of Kagoshima Prefecture. Specifically, it refers to tea produced in Minamikyushu City within Kagoshima Prefecture. While over 80% of tea cultivated in Japan is of the “Yabukita” variety, Chiran Tea is characterized by its use of a wide variety of tea leaves. Blending these leaves results in a deep aroma and rich flavor.
This tea has won numerous awards, including the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award and the Production Area Award in the Regular Sencha category at the National Tea Competition, and is highly regarded for its quality.
