Arita Chawan Bowl: Sakura 桜

Cherry Blossom (桜, sakura) is one of Japan’s most cherished symbols. Blooming for only a brief moment each spring, its delicate flowers remind us of the beauty and impermanence of nature.

In Japanese culture, sakura is often associated with Mono no aware: the appreciation of fleeting moments.

The soft blossom patterns on this chawan bring a gentle, poetic touch to your tea ritual, inviting you to slow down and enjoy the present moment.

What is Arita ware?

Arita ware (有田焼) is one of Japan’s most famous styles of porcelain. It originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita on the island of Kyushu. Known for its fine texture, durability, and elegant designs, Arita ware quickly became highly prized both in Japan and abroad. Traditional Arita pieces often feature delicate hand-painted motifs inspired by nature such as flowers, birds, and seasonal landscapes, painted on a bright white porcelain base. Today, Arita ware continues to combine centuries-old craftsmanship with refined aesthetics, making each piece both beautiful and practical for everyday use.
