Cancelling an order
If you wish to cancel an order, contact us immediately at contact@kyo-chikiriya.com.
If the order is canceled within 5 days, no fee will be incurred. For order older than 5 days, a 5% cancellation fee will be incurred to partially covers our payment processing and currency conversion fees.
Orders already shipped cannot be cancelled.
Returns / Exchanges
● Sales outside Japan
All sales are final. Due to the nature of our products, we do not accept returns.
However, we want your whole experience with Chikiriya and our products to be as pleasant as possible. If you received a defective item or are otherwise disappointed with your purchase, please contact us at our contact page (or at contact@kyo-chikiriya.com) within 7 days of when the package arrives, and we will do our best to make things right.
To help us understand your case, please save all packaging, teas, and related items before contacting us.
Our current system does not allow us to process returns, so please do not send anything back to us.
We do not accept exchanges of any kind.
Return following failed delivery: If a package cannot be delivered and is returned or destroy by the transporter, all incurred fees (transportation both ways, administrative fees, damage products, etc) will be deducted before any refund could be considered.
● European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification.
Your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unopened, undamaged, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Where to send: Returns will need to be sent to the following address:

Time limit: 14 days, starting from delivery of the last item

Shipping label: If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label (format digital à imprimer), as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Return Shipping fee: You are responsible for the costs of postage and packaging of the return. We offer a flat shipping fee for return from Europe equivalent to 9,000jpy.
- Exceptions / non-returnable items: Any product with a remaining best before date below 3 months cannot be returned.

If you received a damaged, defective, or different items from your order, please contact us at our contact page (or at contact@kyo-chikiriya.com) and we will confirm if return or exchange is available.
Upon acceptance, returns must be made within 8 days of receipt of the merchandise.
In any case, we do not accept returns or exchanges of products that have been damaged or soiled by the customer.
Refunds
Refunds are only available in accordance with our return policy. There are no refunds offered or promised after 30 days.
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not.
If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. It usually takes up to 10 business days to be credited back to your account but please remember that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at contact@kyo-chikiriya.com.
Fraudulent activities
We reserve the right to cancel suspicious orders flagged by our payment processor as well as orders containing fake contact information. Cancellation fees may apply.
Attempts to commit chargeback fraud or refund fraud will be reported to local authorities and to federal cybercrime agencies.
