Kyusu teapot by Tokoname artist Maekawa Junzô.
Being the fourth generation of potters from the Kenzan kiln in Tokoname, Maekawa Junzô stands out for his creations of tableware and especially teapots, a symbolic heritage of Tokomane. Maekawa Junzô uses a wide variety of lands and many techniques. Its signature is certainly this particular elegant roundness found in the shapes.
The texture of the teapot is very pleasant to the touch. Pure white with simple curves, it is elegant and refined. Lightweight, its handle is comfortable and fits well in hand. The tea strainer is special since it is made of porcelain, it is a unique technique called "Sasame".

What is Tokoname ware?
Made in the city of Tokoname in Aichi Prefecture, also called one of the "Six Ancient Kilns" of Japan. Tokoname is among these six pottery producing towns and is considered the largest producing area among them.
